Walking with Jesus
Nine chapters on the beliefs and practices that hold a disciple's life together — for anyone weighing up Jesus, starting out with Him, or wanting to go deeper after years.
Most of us were told to accept Jesus and follow Him. Far fewer of us were ever shown what following actually looks like on a Tuesday.
This class is that showing. Nine chapters on what a disciple believes and what a disciple does — seeking God, handling His Word, praying, facing sin honestly, standing under the cross, turning and being made new, belonging to the people around you, and bearing fruit that bears fruit of its own.
It is not a beginner’s class you graduate out of. Three kinds of people work these same nine chapters. Someone still deciding about Jesus, who wants to see what following Him actually involves before committing to anything. Someone who has just committed — perhaps just been baptised — and wants to start well rather than drift. And someone who has been in church for decades and can feel the gap between what they know and what they live.
Nothing here decides anything for you, and no chapter ends by cornering you. What the chapters ask for is honesty and one action, which is a thing all three can give.
One thing shapes every page. We teach nothing here that you could not turn around and pass on this week. If a chapter gives you something only a trained person could do, it has failed. So each chapter ends the same way: something to obey, and someone to tell.
- Start here — the goal is a changed life, not a full notebook.
- Seeking God — what it costs to want Him with everything.
- The Word — how to eat it, and what it does to you.
- Prayer — talking with God, and a pattern anyone can copy.
- Sin — what it is, and what it does when it is left alone.
- The cross — what your sin cost Him, and what that buys.
- Turning — repentance, baptism, and a life that is genuinely new.
- One another — the disciples God has put around you.
- Bearing fruit — becoming someone through whom Jesus reaches others.
