- 5

- 3

Counted, not estimated. We would rather publish a small number we can stand behind than a large one we cannot.

One of them, by name.
Before anything is funded
A short written commitment
Before any paid tier or sponsorship begins, your church signs a short commitment. It is what makes the work your church’s own.
- Your minister and elders agree in writing to the changes the work requires.
- One named point leader, and a core group of at least a handful of committed members.
- A baseline measure at the start, and the same measure every quarter.
- Open reporting to CoMission — and to your sponsor, if you have one.
If your church needs sponsorship
Any tier can be sponsored
Churches that can pay, pay. Churches that cannot are sponsored by churches and donors who can, and both receive the same method. There is no separate sponsored tier: you choose the Disciple-Maker Cohort, 1:1 Coaching or Embedded, and a sponsor covers some or all of the cost.
- Your church takes the same two first steps as everyone else: the Health Check and the alignment meeting.
- Your minister and elders sign the short commitment above before anything is funded.
- We match a sponsor: a US church paired with yours, a donor, or a grant such as a CoMission Spark community.
- Your sponsor covers some or all of the cost, agreed case by case for your church’s situation. The work is still your church’s own.
- The work follows the tier you chose. Outside the US, trained local disciple-makers do the on-the-ground work, and follow-up stays your church’s job.
- Your sponsor receives plain reports: the baseline, the activity, and the multiplication.
How much your sponsor covers, up to the full cost, is agreed case by case. Ask about sponsorship in your alignment meeting.

Questions churches ask
Before you start
We already have small groups. How is this different?
Small groups gather believers to grow together, and that is good. This equips those same believers to open the Bible with people who don’t yet follow Jesus, and to help them do the same with someone else. Your groups can become the place disciple-makers are trained, rather than a program this replaces.
What does it cost, and what if our church can’t pay?
Every church starts with the Health Check and an alignment meeting. The Disciple-Maker Cohort is $80 per seat per month. 1:1 Coaching and Embedded vary by congregation, and we work out the figure together in the alignment meeting. If your church needs sponsorship, any tier can be sponsored by a church, a donor or a grant, up to the full cost, agreed case by case for your church’s situation.
Does it matter what denomination we are?
No. The method is a Discovery Bible Study: people read a passage, ask what it says and how to obey it, and let Scripture do the teaching. Your church’s own doctrine and pastoral care stay yours, and we work within them. Questions about a particular tradition are a good thing to bring to the alignment meeting.
How much time does it take from our people?
In the Disciple-Maker Cohort, each leader joins a 60-minute group call twice a month and practises between calls. In 1:1 Coaching, your point leader meets Byron for 60 minutes every week and carries the plan between calls. In Embedded, Byron joins your staff and your point leader is coached weekly, alongside the volunteers you train. In every tier, the real time is spent opening the Bible with people — which is the point.
Not sure yet?
Every path starts with the same two steps
Take the Health Check to see where your church stands compared to other churches, then talk it through. We will tell you plainly which kind of help fits, including when the answer is “none of these yet”.
