How to use a drill

A drill is not a shorter class. It is the same Discovery Bible Study cycle on a passage small enough to finish in a few minutes, run often enough to be remembered.

Put it at the top of something you already do
Open the class, the small group or the meeting with a drill instead of adding a new gathering to anyone's week. Five to ten minutes is enough, and the class you planned still happens afterwards.
Run the whole cycle, every time
Read the passage, read it again, and have someone retell it in their own words. Then the same four questions, and each person says out loud what they will obey and who they will tell. Never cut a step to save a minute — the repetition of the shape is the thing being learned.
Let someone else facilitate
By the third or fourth drill, hand it to a member and sit in the circle. Someone who has facilitated once is far more likely to open a Bible with a neighbour than someone who has only watched.
Keep going long after it feels basic
Drills stop feeling new well before they stop working. A church that runs one most weeks for a year has members who can study any passage, with anyone, anywhere, without preparing.

Drills are meant to sit alongside the teaching your church already does, not to replace it. Discovery builds the habit of obeying God's word; your teaching builds depth. A congregation needs both.
