The study that left our family
We started with the people in our own house — Pamela's mother, her cousin, the father of her brothers. A name passed along by a medical brigade is where the chain finally left the family.

Rosinda is Pamela’s mother. Juan Antonio is the father of Pamela’s brothers. Dilma is Pamela’s cousin. We say that plainly, because it is where anyone honest starts — you open the Bible with the people already at your table, and you find out quickly whether a method survives people who will tell you the truth about it.
They learned it the way we teach anyone. Read a short passage. Tell it back in your own words. Answer four questions. Decide what you will obey this week.
Dilma went first and started a group of her own. Rosinda and Juan Antonio have sat in it — though they learned this in our living room, which is why we count the chain to the Bakers as three generations and not four.
Then a medical brigade passed along a name. Someone in the community had said they wanted to learn how to study the Bible.
Rosinda and Juan Antonio did not hand that name back to us. They went, and they started a study in the Baker home.
That is where it leaves our family. Our living room, to Rosinda and Juan Antonio, to the Bakers — and the Bakers are the first people in the chain who were not already at our table.
