Sixteen studies following women through the whole story — made in God’s image and given the work; damaged by what broke; seen by God in the desert; asking the assembly for what is theirs; leading a nation; binding themselves to a bitter mother-in-law and to God; singing that the powerful will be pulled down; touching Jesus’ cloak; talking theology at a well; sitting at his feet as a disciple; confessing who he is at a grave; staying at the cross when the men had gone; and sent first, by the risen Jesus, to tell the ones who had run.

Nicodemus is here on purpose, next to the woman at the well: the respected teacher who comes in the dark and struggles, and the woman with no standing who meets Jesus at noon and tells her whole town. The contrast is the teaching. For community leaders and women’s groups who want the Bible’s own account of what women are for.
