Bible study plan
Jesus First: The Readings
Thirty-five passages to read with a group, from honest disappointment to following Jesus first, every day.
This plan walks the passages behind the class Jesus First: 40-Day Challenge, as ordinary studies for a group.
It starts where many people actually are: honest about what they have seen, and disappointed. It does not ask you to pretend. It takes that disappointment to Jesus himself, and then walks through what he gives his people: his word, his Spirit, one another, and the people he is already drawing to himself.
You do not need to have done the class. Read each passage twice, retell it in your own words, and answer the same four questions every time. Take one study at a time, at whatever pace suits your group. The studies end with the words the whole road rests on: whoever wants to follow Jesus must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow him.

How to use a Bible study plan
Read one passage at a time together and ask a few simple questions: What does this tell us about God? About people? What will you obey this week, and who will you share it with? Simple, repeatable, and easy to pass on.
