   • Trace the downward and upward movement of vv. 6–11. What does Jesus let go of, how low does he go, and how does God respond?

   • 'In humility value others as more important than yourselves' (v. 3). Where are selfish ambition or empty conceit hiding in your life right now?

3. What will I obey this week? (a concrete step, with a day)

   • 'Do everything without complaining or grumbling' (v. 14). In which one situation will you obey that this week — and how will anyone notice you shining 'like stars in the sky'?

4. Who will I tell?

   • Paul points to Timothy and Epaphroditus as living examples. Who gets to watch your life up close — and who will you invite closer this week?
