  1. What does this passage show me about God?

    • What does Jesus say about greatness in this chapter, and how does he contrast his kingdom with the rulers of this world?

  2. What does it show me about people — and about myself?

    • The rich man went away sad because he had great wealth. What is the one thing you would find hardest to let go for Jesus?

  3. What will I obey this week? (a concrete step, with a day)

    • Blind Bartimaeus threw off his cloak and asked plainly for mercy. What will you ask Jesus for plainly this week — and what 'cloak' must you throw off?

  4. Who will I tell?

    • The disciples rebuked those bringing children. Who might you be unintentionally keeping from Jesus?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

Jesus, you came not to be served but to serve, and to give your life as a ransom for many. Unclench my hands from what I own and what I want, and teach me your way down.
