Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this passage show me about God?

    • What does Jesus say and do from the cross in John's account, and what does 'It is finished' mean in light of the whole book?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about myself?

    • John says these things are testified 'so that you also may believe' (v. 35). What does the cross settle about God's love for you?
  3. What will I obey this week? (a concrete step, with a day)

    • Joseph and Nicodemus went public for Jesus at the costliest moment. What hidden allegiance to him will you make visible this week?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • 'It is finished' is news, not advice. Who needs to hear that the work is already done — and how will you tell them this week?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

Jesus, you carried your own cross, you gave your mother a son, and you said, 'It is finished.' Everything needed for my rescue was completed there. Thank you.
