   • What does Jesus do at the supper, what 'new command' does he give, and how does he say everyone will recognize his disciples (vv. 34–35)?

   • Peter resisted: 'You shall never wash my feet.' Why is it sometimes harder to receive Jesus' service than to give it?

3. What will I obey this week? (a concrete step, with a day)

   • 'Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet.' Whose feet — practically, humbly — will you wash this week?

   • Jesus said love would be the mark that shows the world who his disciples are. What visible act of love could make someone ask about him this week?
