Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this show me about God?

    • God does not leave David alone in his secret — he sends somebody. What does that show about God?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about me?

    • Nathan tells a story first, and David gets angry at the man in it before he realises it is him. Why is it easier to see other people's wrong than our own?
  3. What will I obey this week?

    • Who is allowed to tell you when you are wrong? What will you do the next time they do?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Is there somebody you need to be a Nathan to — kindly? What will you say?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, you sent a friend to tell David the truth when nobody else dared. Thank you for people who love me enough to say hard things.
