Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this show me about God?

    • God sends most of the army home so nobody can say they saved themselves. What does God care about here?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about me?

    • Going from thirty-two thousand to three hundred must have been terrifying. When has having less made you trust more?
  3. What will I obey this week?

    • What is one thing you will stop relying on this week so you rely on God instead?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who feels too small for what they are facing? What could you tell them?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, you made the army smaller on purpose so everyone would know it was you. Help me stop trying to look strong. Thank you that you do not need my help to be God.
