Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this show me about God?

    • Joseph says, "God sent me ahead of you to save lives." What does that tell you about what God can do with bad things?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about me?

    • Joseph cries and hugs the brothers who hurt him. What does real forgiving look like?
  3. What will I obey this week?

    • Who will you forgive this week — and what will you actually say to them?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who needs to hear that God can bring something good out of the worst thing that ever happened to them?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, Joseph forgave the brothers who sold him. Thank you that you turned the worst thing that happened to him into rescue for everybody. Help me forgive like that.
