Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this show me about God?

    • Abraham says, "God himself will provide the lamb." What does that tell you about who God is?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about me?

    • Abraham obeys the hardest thing he has ever been asked. What does that show about trusting God with what you love most?
  3. What will I obey this week?

    • What is one thing you are holding on to tightly that you will hand back to God this week?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who could you tell that God provides — and that he provided Jesus?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, this is a hard story. Thank you that you stopped Abraham and gave the ram instead. Thank you that you gave your own Son, so nobody ever has to be afraid like that again.
