Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this show me about God?

    • The king cancels a debt nobody could ever pay. What is that story telling you about God?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about me?

    • Peter thinks seven times is generous, and Jesus says seventy-seven. Why does keeping count mean you have not really forgiven?
  3. What will I obey this week?

    • What debt are you keeping count of? What will you do about it this week?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who is stuck keeping score? What could you tell them about this story?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

Jesus, the man in your story had been let off an amount he could never repay and then grabbed somebody by the throat over pocket change. Help me remember which one I am.
