Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this show me about God?

    • David asks God to create something new in him, not just to forgive. What kind of God can do that?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about me?

    • He says "against you, and you only, have I sinned" — even though he hurt people badly. What is he seeing?
  3. What will I obey this week?

    • What would you ask God to make new in you? Ask him this week, out loud.
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who feels too dirty to come back to God? What does this psalm say to them?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, David asked you for a clean heart, not just a way out of trouble. Give me that too.
