Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this show me about God?

    • Moses argues with God for people who had just betrayed him. What does it say about God that he listens?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about me?

    • Moses does not say "it wasn't that bad." He calls it a great sin and then begs anyway. What is the difference between excusing and forgiving?
  3. What will I obey this week?

    • Who could you pray for this week that nobody else is praying for?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who needs somebody in their corner right now? Will it be you?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, Moses offered to be blotted out rather than watch your people be lost. Thank you that somebody was willing to stand in front of them. Thank you that Jesus did it all the way.
