Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this show me about God?

    • Jesus looks straight at Peter after the third denial, and later gives him his job back. What does that tell you about Jesus?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about me?

    • The man who promised to die for Jesus was frightened of a servant girl. What does that say about how brave any of us are on our own?
  3. What will I obey this week?

    • Where have you let somebody down? What will you do about it this week?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who thinks they have failed too badly to come back? What could you tell them?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

Jesus, Peter said he did not know you, three times, and you did not stop loving him. Thank you that being scared and getting it wrong is not the end. Help me come back to you.
