Digest

Answer from what the passage actually says — stay in the text.

  1. What does this show me about God?

    • God gives the reason for the courage: I will be with you. What does that tell you about where bravery comes from?
  2. What does it show me about people — and about me?

    • God says "do not be afraid" to somebody who clearly was afraid. Is being scared a problem, or just where courage starts?
  3. What will I obey this week?

    • What is one thing you will do this week that scares you a bit?
  4. Who will I tell?

    • Who needs to hear that God goes with them?

Grow

Growth is God's part, not yours. Do the cycle faithfully and trust Him to give the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6–7).

Pray

God, you did not tell Joshua to be brave because he was strong. You told him because you were going with him. Thank you that you come with me too.
