Have us come
Have us come talk to your church
Byron and Pamela Sommardahl have been in the southern mountains of Honduras since 1998. They're in Tennessee part of the year, and they'd be glad to come.
What we can do
Four shapes, and any of them works
Speak on a Sunday
A sermon, or a few minutes in the service — whatever fits how your congregation gathers. We'll work to your order of service, not ours.
Sit with your missions committee
An hour on a Tuesday night, with questions. This is the one most committees find most useful, and the one we are most often asked for.
Teach a workshop
Half a day on making disciple makers — how an ordinary believer learns to open the Bible with someone who is not yet a believer.
Do any of it over video
If travel doesn't work, it doesn't have to. We have done all three of the above from Honduras, and a committee meeting over video works better than most people expect.
What we'd talk about
The four things we are actually useful on
You can pick one, or tell us what your church is wrestling with and we'll shape it around that.
- How ordinary believers learn to open the Bible with someone — the whole method, in plain terms, with the part people find hardest.
- What we've watched happen in Honduras since 1998, including the years where nothing much did.
- What it actually takes for a church to build disciple makers rather than just attenders.
- And honestly — what hasn't worked. There is more of this than anyone expects, and it is usually the part a room remembers.
What it costs you
Nothing.
If we're already traveling, nothing at all. If we're not, we'll tell you plainly what getting there involves and you can decide — but there is no fee, no honorarium expected, and no minimum.
We're not coming to make an ask from the pulpit. If your missions committee wants to talk afterwards, we'd be glad to. If they don't, we'll have had a good Sunday with your church.

Ask us to come
Tell us what you have in mind
A date, a rough one, or just “sometime when you're stateside”. Tell us your church and what you'd want us to speak on, and we'll work out the rest with you.
Send us a note
We read every message and will follow up personally.
